Assisted living, at its simplest, is help with the parts of the day that have become hard: bathing, dressing, grooming, getting around, remembering medications, getting to the table for a good meal. Most of the people who live with us are not sick. They are tired of doing it alone, or their families are tired of worrying from a distance.
The Snowberry provides that help in a home with twelve residents, not a building with hundreds. That difference shapes everything.
What a 1:5 ratio changes
Our caregivers look after five residents at a time, day and night, with 24/7 coverage and electronic medication records (eMAR) for every dose. We hold that ratio because of what it makes possible, not for the number itself.
When one caregiver knows five people, the small things get noticed. The morning Dad seems a step slower. The lunch Mom only pushed around her plate. The new quiet in someone who used to tease the cook. Those moments get caught early, while they are still small, and a family hears about them the same day.
What daily help looks like here
- Personal care with dignity: bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility, at a pace set by the person, not the clock.
- Medication management: 24/7 caregiver coverage with full eMAR documentation, so nothing is missed and nothing is doubled.
- Meals from scratch: our in-house chef cooks every day, and residents who want to help are welcome in the kitchen. Everyone eats together at one shared table.
- A private bedroom of your parent's own, in a house with a living room, a sitting room, a kitchen that smells like dinner, and a backyard with raised garden beds.
- A full daily life: music, gardening, life-story work, gentle movement, visiting therapy pets, and an open door for family. Read more about a day at the home.
- Coordination with your parent's physician, visiting therapists and hospice partners, so the family has one calm point of contact.
All of it is covered by one all-inclusive monthly rate with no a la carte billing. We would rather talk through the rate with you directly than print a number, so please call us.
When needs change
They almost always do. Because assisted living and memory care happen under one roof here, with the same caregivers, most residents can stay as their needs grow, in the same room, with the same people around them. If a need ever goes beyond what we can safely provide, we will tell you early and help you plan the next step. When the time comes for comfort care, we partner with local hospice providers so it can happen here, among familiar faces.
Is a small home the right fit?
Large communities do remarkable things at scale, and for many families they are exactly right. A small home offers something different: a single table, twelve chairs, and caregivers who learn your parent's whole history rather than their chart. Families often know which one feels right the moment they walk in.
